We have broken ground on The Woodlands at StoneBrook! The 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for Independent Seniors will feature great rooms and full kitchens. Fine dining, programs, services and management will be provided by Fairport Baptist Homes. Longwell Builders (developer of StoneBrook Townhomes & Cottages) anticipates apartments being ready for occupancy by September 2017. The Woodlands at StoneBrook is located at Pittsford-Palmyra Rd. and Stonebrook Drive in Fairport.
Where does coffee, craft brews and food find a comfortable space to coalesce? The Mellow mug, in the Perinton Hamlet of Bushnell’s Basin. This establishment resides in a house that backs to the Erie Canal, located at 616 A Pittsford Victor Rd. Although limited, the Mellow Mug has a breakfast menu includes a delicious assortment of breakfast sandwiches and pastries to accompany that cup of coffee, specialty coffee, tea or smoothie. Lunch is salads, sandwiches or paninis. Again, not a huge menu, but when the ingredients are this good, a handful of delicious options beats a menu that overwhelms a kitchen. Call ahead for the live music schedule (249-9310). This small establishment makes for a relaxing, casual afternoon or evening out.
Triphammer Bierwerks has opened in Fairport! Located in the old American Can building, Triphammer is the newest craft brewery in the area. And what an outstanding addition it is to the Rochester craft crew scene. Scott Denhart is the owner. Scott has been a homebrewer for several years. Upon moving to the Rochester area 6 years ago he started the planning process to open a brewery. Scott had previously purchased equipment from a California brewery that closed. This spring he found the old American Can building and his work began. Today, the brewery, with very much a warehouse feel to it, has high ceilings, loads of windows, is spacious with a huge bar and picnic tables for additional seating. A great place to enjoy outstanding beer! Scott opened with 4 beers on tap.
Triphammer Bierwerks is located at 111 Parce Ave. in Fairport. The website directs you to the brewery, “turn off Main St. at Fairport Village Inn, drive through the public parking lot and past grain bins!!” Welcome Scott and Head Brewer Andy Walker to Fairport! (Open Tuesday through Sunday.)
