The Landing Bar and Grille

Donnelly’s Public House

Located at 1 Water Street in Fairport, Donnelly’s has a full, fairly priced menu of fantastic choices for both food and drink. Donnelly’s is local favorite and it’s clear if you ever go for dinner. They do take reservations and it is highly recommended as it can get crowded. They have a wonderful selection of beers on tap every day and every month they feature a brewery from the area. After you eat take a walk along the canal right by and you’ve got yourself an amazing night!


Compane Brick Oven Bistro

Compane Bistro is an excellent source of home cooked, good, old fashioned Italian food. Almost all the recipes come from the owners mother herself and are immensely satisfying. Located on 80 N. Main Street in Fairport, this homey, warm restaurant is perfect for a home away from home kind of date. The venue is warm and inviting and the wait staff is wonderful.

They are open Monday-Wednesday 5-10pm and Thursday-Saturday 5-11pm.

They take reservations and encourage them for parties of 3 or more. Compane also offers a full bar, wine list and a no corkage fee on Mondays.


The Colonial Belle (Fairport, NY)

The Erie Canal can be experienced via walking, jogging or biking, as well as by boat!  The Colonial Belle is a 149-passenger boat that cruises the Erie Canal Tuesdays through Sundays, departing from Fairport.  The boat includes an enclosed lower deck and an upper open-air deck, has a full-service bar and two restrooms.  A typical trip on the Colonial Belle will last 2 or 3 hours, traveling between Fairport and Pittsford, and could include lock passage at Canal Park in Pittsford (3-hour cruise).

Summer or Fall is a great time to explore the Erie Canal, one of the very unique aspects of the region.

Wegmans in Perinton is Expanding

If you are regular Wegmans Perinton shopper you undoubtedly know that the store is undergoing a major expansion.   The expansion will include a larger produce and prepared foods section, as well as The Pub, serving food and alcohol; a new Market View Café; and a dry-aged beef room. The expansion is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 2015, followed by a renovation.  The entire project should be finished by early 2017.

The expansion will make the supermarket the third-largest Wegmans in the Rochester area, behind Pittsford and Penfield.

The 2015 Fairport Music Festival

The Fairport Music Festival is August 28th and 29th. It will be held in Fairport on Liftbridge Lane near the Box Factory Building and features both music and food from local restaurants. This music festival will offer music on three stages from more than 20 bands and entertainers, tons of kids' activities, and over 20 area restaurants for great food. It is also an incredible donation opportunity! All proceeds will go to Golisano’s Children’s Hospital at Strong, which has helped out the Fairport community countless times over the years.

Until 11:59 on July 31, tickets will be $10 online. After such time, online tickets will be $15 per person. Online ticket sales officially end at 11:59 on August 27th. Tickets from listed merchant outlets will go on sale on August 1st at $15 per person and last through August 28th.

To buy tickets on the day of the Saturday event, August 29th, will be $20 per person.

Rock ‘n’ Run Family 5k/Perinton Recreation & Parks

Get ready to rock and run! Join the Fairport community for an afternoon of family running events followed by a cookout dinner and music by the Tommy Brunett Band at Center Stage. There will be a 5k trail race, a 1 mile run for kids 12 and under, and kids’ fun run races. T-shirt and cookout dinner are included in registration (guaranteed if registered by August 14th); there is a free concert afterwards.

*Strollers are not allowed on the race course. There is a playground on site.*

Bocaccini's Italian Bistro & Bar Fairport, NY

Mulconry's Irish Pub and Restaurant Fairport, NY

Featuring a mix of authentic Irish fare and American cuisine, Mulconry’s is located right in the village of Fairport near the canal. They have a homey feel and some of the best food you could eat.  It is located at 17 Liftbridge Ln E, Fairport. Mulconry’s offers a full menu of both Irish and American food such as bangers and mash, shepard’s pie, Irish boxtys, burgers, sandwiches, salads and great wings. With an upstairs party room added in December 2008 complete with dining for 60 people and a private bar, Mulconry’s is open for lunch and dinner and is a must visit!

Sak’s Thai Cuisine

The small hamlet of Egypt (Fairport, NY) is home to several diverse restaurants.  One is Sak’s Thai Cuisine, located in the strip mall directly across the street from StoneBrook, at 7374 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, has a full bar and a friendly staff.  Saks offers a diverse selection of delicious entrees, Thai salads, soups, curries, and chef’s specialties.  The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, and for take-out. 

Free Guided Crescent Trail Hike

On Sunday, July 12th from 1:30pm to 3pm, a guided Crescent Trail hike is scheduled.  The hike will encompass trails through Vinecrest, the Midlands and Beaumont. This is a steep trek within preserved open space areas adjacent to residential neighborhoods.

Please meet at the Old Foley Road parking area on Moseley Road (between Garnsey Road and Woodcliff Drive). 

2015 Fairport Library Gazebo Concert Series

Thursday evenings in July, through August 6th   Perinton Parks and Recreation hosts concerts at the outdoor Gazebo at Vincent G. Kennelley Park next to the Fairport Village Landing.

Each week a different musical group will play from 7pm – 8pm.

An Independence Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Main Street; followed by a “Party in the Park” with live music in Perinton Park, 31F & O’Connor Rd.
